If you are interested in contributing your time and energy to invasive plant control, there are a variety of ways in which you can get involved and help.

Set a good example by removing invasive species from your yard. Then encourage your neighbors and friends to do the same.

The 索诺兰沙漠除草者 were organized in September 2000 by a group of dedicated 志愿者 who recognized the substantial threat of exotic weeds to the Sonoran Desert. As one of the longest running volunteer organizations dedicated to weed removal in 图森, the 索诺兰沙漠除草者 have cleared thousands of acres of buffelgrass in 图森 Mountain Park. The park began hosting regular group buffelgrass pulls (now called "buffelgrass parties") in October, 2007. Park staff hike new and returning 志愿者 to patches of buffelgrass and provide training and supervision in safely digging up buffelgrass, fountaingrass, 以及其他入侵的草. 活动通常持续4个小时左右. 多年来, 2022世界杯下注已经清除了离道路最近的地块, so now it usually takes about 30-45 minutes to reach the patches. Become a "Saguaro Steward" with a more significant commitment:
With experience and training, people can sign up to become 杂草 Free Trail 志愿者. These 志愿者 hike trails within the park and remove our priority invasive plants, which include invasive grasses as well as some winter annual herbaceous plants. 杂草 Free Trail 志愿者 work on their own schedule and as often as they want, and they can coordinate with other 志愿者 about which areas have been recently covered or need to be covered.

A brand new volunteer program was officially kicked off in January, 2022. Adopt-an-Area 志愿者 have similar training as 杂草 Free Trail 志愿者, 同样是独立运作的. 志愿者s work with park staff to select areas to adopt, picking places and terrain of their liking. 他们按照自己的时间表工作，只要他们愿意.

The Buffel Slayers work to rid Catalina State Park of buffelgrass. They go out once per month September through May, taking a break over the summer.
